Ruddy Darter (Sympetrum sanguineum)
Tends to be the first darter to appear in my experience (with the exception of an early and rare Red-veined darter).
Males are red with all black legs.
Females are yellow with all black legs.
Mainly confused with the Common Darter, look for all black legs, the common darter has a yellow stripe.
