Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo)
These certainly stand out from the crowd when you see them.
They are larger than the damselflies and more obvious when you see them.
Males are metallic blue with wings that start off brown and darken to almost black as they mature.
Females are metallic green with a reddish/bronze tip to the abdomen with brown wings.
Similar to Banded Demoiselle, male wings do not have a band.  In the female, the spot on the top of the wing is further forward than in the Banded Demoiselle female.

Want to See
They like faster flowing water.
Exmoor, I believe, has good spots for them (although I haven't explored this area for them as yet).
All areas with faster moving water are possible for them.

Especially Good
The best place I know is Yeovil Country Park (Riverside) (Late May / June)
I believe there are probably better spots than this, I just haven't found them as yet
